Here is a new site for Nottingham based mediators and conflict resolution specialists Astren. We met up with the ladies and had a lovely afternoon finding out abou the positive impact they have on difficult situations.
Astren already had a smart logo and colour scheme, so we created a custom Wordpress theme to match. It was an absolute please to work with Astren, and we are inviting them to give a talk at the monthly meetup for web designers we organise called Second Wednesday.
Here is the new Zen Cart ecommerce website for Hearrings - a new jewellery brand from Kate Cross Hearing. The Hearrings attach to the hearing aid to accessorise and improve the appearance of the aids.
The new Zen Cart site runs on our eco-friendly green web hosting and uses a completely customised template with Lightbox product images, animated pop up information windows and our Zen Cart admin theme Paramita.

Another new Zen Cart ecommerce site here for Nottingham jewellery designer Beth Strutt. The online shop uses a heavily modified ZenCart template with lots of addons to make it easy to use for customers and the site admins. We imported all their products and connected the site to Paypal using a guest checkout module that allows you to buy jewellery quickly without creating an account on the site.
The site also runs on our green web hosting which is powered by wind instead of using carbon offsetting. This makes the site truly eco-friendly! Check out their range of silver jewellery, bracelets and necklaces.
A new ecommerce site for Nottingham based textiles company Delicious launched this week, selling their awesome range of hand made bunting. The new website features a hand drawn font and design, with a drag and drop shopping cart so you can make up whatever words you like!
It’s based on Drag and Drop cart, customised to suit the bunting shop and connected to Paypal. The bunting shop also runs on our wind powered green web hosting to make it eco-friendly :)
We’ve been extremely busy for the last few months, January/February is often a quiet time but this year it’s been busier than ever! Because of this, we have lots of new sites to show you, including Ken Ware engineers Newark. We replaced the old, static HTML site with a new version running on the Textpattern content management system.
Our brief was “make it minimal” – a perfect match as we reckon less is often more when it comes to the design of web pages. Another aspect of this project was getting the business on Twitter and Facebook, branding their pages up to match their company image and linking the news section of the new website to automatically update their social networks. Ken Ware have already been posting to their Facebook page – introducing their amphibious welding squad!
Another new Textpattern based website launched today for Benchmark Graphic Design Nottingham. Caroline designed the clean, minimal layout and we transformed it into a content managed website. Textpattern 4.3 has just come out and allowed us to use a fantastic new control panel theme that makes updating the site even easier!
Benchmark design also runs on our green web hosting server, completely powered by renewable energy. A new site for a new business offering driving lessons in Nottingham and the surrounding areas. Gavin has some great testimonials and images of his students learning to drive, so we gathered everything together and made a fresh, modern looking site to advertise his driving lessons in Nottingham. Most driving instructor sites are home made bodge jobs so this one stands out a mile!
Another new site for Distant Horizons, this one shows off their Lake District self catering accommodation. The site is built using Expression Engine with the Multiple Site Manager plugin which means Distant Horizons can reuse their growing library of website content that has been uploaded as part of their main website and the 3 Challenges site.
The site uses a stunning background image of Ullswater, with overlapping textured panels to break the boxiness that websites can end up with. Having stayed in the Ullswater Lodge I can heartily recommend it - it is very cosy, very quiet and the lodge is located in a beautiful part of the Lake District.
